As a Digital Solutions Developer on the Komatsu Next team, you will be at the forefront of digital transformation, helping develop tools and solutions that enable smarter, faster, and more sustainable outcomes for Komatsu and our customers. You’ll work closely with business units, IT teams, and innovation ambassadors to bring concepts to life, from rapid prototypes to scalable production tools.
This role is ideal for someone who is excited about technology, eager to learn, and wants to grow into a leading innovator. You will get hands on experience building solutions using Azure, Power Platform, and low-code/no-code tools while gaining exposure to cutting edge projects in AI, automation, digital twins, XR, and more.

Komatsu NExT Program
Komatsu NExT (New and Emerging Transformational Technologies) is a cross-functional innovation program focused on accelerating delivery of Dantotsu digital solutions. Our team drives innovation through rapid prototyping, strategic tech alignment, and emerging tech exploration—with a strong focus on delivering real business value.
Key Job Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Build & Develop
+ Design and develop digital tools using Azure, Palantir, Power Apps, Power Automate, and other platforms
Experiment & Innovate
+ Participate in rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept (POC) work across emerging tech like AI/ML, XR, edge computing, and other data-driven applications
+ Explore, test, and recommend new platforms or tech that could drive business value
Collaborate & Learn
+ Partner with cross-functional teams to understand pain points and identify solution opportunities
+ Collaborate with technical leads and senior developers to implement best practices for performance, security, and maintainability
+ Learn from mentors, contribute to code reviews, and develop reusable assets and documentation
+ Contribute to technology assessments, innovation workshops, and solution demos for internal stakeholders
Monitor & Improve
+ Work within the NExT program’s structured approach to innovation, agile development, and continuous iteration
Must-Haves:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
+ 1–3 years of hands-on experience in application development, preferably with Azure tools
+ Willingness to learn, experiment, and grow technical skills in a dynamic environment
+ Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
+ Strong communication skills; able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
+ Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, Java, C#)
+ Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless technologies
+ Experience working in an agile, iterative environment with frequent feedback loops and short development cycles
Nice-to-Haves:
+ Experience with low-code/no-code platforms, APIs, Azure Functions, or Azure Logic Apps
+ Understanding of DevOps practices, application lifecycle management, and/or agile workflows
+ Familiarity with enterprise platforms like SAP, SharePoint, or Palantir Foundry
+ Exposure to AI/ML, Power Platforms, or XR development is a plus
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$70,000-$90,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
