Job Summary and Qualifications

The EKG Technician is under the direction of the Medical Director and the Cardiopulmonary Director. According to specific instructions and established departmental policies and procedures, the EKG Technician must demonstrate the ability to assess, treat and care for patients who suffer from acute and chronic abnormalities of the cardiovascular system. The individual will have the skills and knowledge level required to provide care to patients as delineated in their scope of services. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education and Training:

• Hospital based training/experience

Minimum Work Experience:

• Two (2) years of hospital based experience in EKG.

Skills:

• Must demonstrate competence in the use of verbal and written communication skills.

License/Registration/Certification:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support required.

• ACLS preferred.

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
