Job Summary and Qualifications

The EKG technician will discuss the meaning of medical prescription as applied to the entire role of Cardiac Therapeutic regimes. Communicates effectively with other members of the department as well as other healthcare providers including the medical staff, medical directors, and department director. Must follow department policy and procedure as well as safety policy and procedure. Performs all other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFIC PEROFRMANCE COMPETENCIES:

1. Maintains an up to date filing system, including confirming of EKG’s.

2. Demonstrates proper retrieval, printing and faxing of EKG’s from Muse System.

3. Demonstrates complete documentation compliance according to policy and procedure.

4. Demonstrates ability to properly place Holter Monitor.

5. Demonstrates skill in performing electrocardiograms, including skin preparation.

6. Demonstrates work standards as outline in job description.

7. Demonstrates ability to perform Signal Average EKG’s.

8. Demonstrates ability to perform ETT’s.

9. Demonstrates competency in using Meditech.

10. Provides correct and effective care as outlined in Job Description and CBO

What qualifications you will need:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.

• College credits preferred but not required.

• Experience in the field of EKG/Cardiology preferred but not required.

• BCLS required
