POSITION SUMMARY: As a Software Systems Engineer at Cintel, you will work in our Information Solutions team focusing on solving real world problems for customers, developing and using our Data Science & Analytics solution, and actively contributing to the development of our state-of-the-art preprocessing, modeling, and visualization capabilities. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining architectures to house data and performing descriptive analysis to develop insights, build models and solve our customers problems.
We are looking for talented people with excellent engineering skills and deep knowledge of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Software Development who can analyze problems, develop innovative solutions, and implement them for real-world use. Our Information Solutions team is focused on delivering best-in-class data science solutions and this position provides the opportunity to develop key components of our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as a technical advisor to system owners (tenants) migrating applications to cArmy Cloud environments.
+ Guide and support system owners through ECMA’s Cloud Migration Approval Process (CMAP), including documentation and governance review phases.
+ Develop compliant technical packages, cloud migration architectures, and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates.
+ Provide subject matter expertise on containerization strategies and modern application deployment patterns.
+ Monitor ECMA channels and updates to maintain awareness of procedural changes and emerging requirements.
+ Support coordination with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) such as ALTESS and AAG during pre-migration and handoff phases.
+ Attend technical meetings with system owners, ECMA representatives, and other stakeholders to support migration planning and execution.
+ Leverage prior cloud migration artifacts and templates to expedite new efforts and reduce redundant work.
+ Advise on funding timelines, burn rates, and compliance concerns (e.g., Anti-Deficiency Act risks).
+ Act as a bridge between non-G6 communities and complex cloud governance structures by translating policy into actionable steps.
Required Qualifications:
+ Strong background in cloud engineering, software architecture, or full-stack web application development.
+ Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
+ Proven ability to develop technical documentation, cost estimates, and migration plans.
+ Excellent communication and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
+ Ability to translate complex technical and procedural concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Active security clearance (or ability to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience supporting Army, DoD, or other federal cloud initiatives.
+ Familiarity with cArmy Cloud, ECMA governance, and CMAP/CGC processes preferred.
+ Understanding of ALTESS, AAG, and managed cloud service provider ecosystems.
+ Project or program management experience in technical environments.
