Description

We are looking for an experienced Collections Specialist to join our team in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing collections processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid background in financial services and exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the collection of outstanding debts while adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines.

• Communicate with customers to resolve overdue accounts and negotiate suitable payment arrangements.

• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment agreements in the system.

• Utilize advanced debt recovery techniques to achieve collection targets efficiently.

• Provide constructive feedback and support to team members through mentoring efforts.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations related to collections.

• Collaborate with other departments to address disputes or discrepancies in customer accounts.

• Prepare and review reports related to collection activities and account statuses.

• Utilize computer applications, including Microsoft Word and other relevant software, to streamline collection processes.

Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service and negotiation.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in documenting and recording customer information accurately.

• In-depth knowledge of debt recovery techniques and best practices.

• Familiarity with federal, state, and company policies and regulations related to collections.

• Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word; knowledge of collections-specific software is a plus.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
