**Pay Range:** $34.89 - $56.78 per hour

Summary:
Under the general direction of the Supervising Statistician or Statistician Manager, the Statistician 2 independently writes and runs (more complex) computer programs to summarize and perform statistical analyses on data concerning topics in the biomedical sciences, preparing reports to summarize those results. Provides quantitative and analytic support to multiple research projects. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or closely related field.
• 4 years of experience performing statistical analysis of biomedical or related data.
• Experience with linear and logistic regression, longitudinal analysis and survival analysis methods.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency with SAS or R/R-studio programming. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented and careful attention to accuracy.
• Ability to function effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to independently prioritize workload.
• Some positions may require SQL/Database management skills.

Department Specific (RADC):
• The Statistician 2 will be working closely with data from Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center (RADC) research studies and with RADC investigators.
• Follow RADC Statistics teams protocols and practices for SAS programs and R/Rstudio.
• Work closely with other members of the RADC Statistics team to ensure that protocols (including ShareCode macros) and variables developed are employed.
• Participate in meetings of Biostatistics team and Center-wide activities (including Clinical Research Conference, Inside Highlights).
• Experience with analysis or conduct of longitudinal studies required.
Responsibilities:
• Compute new variables in output for specific requests, displaying stages by showing summaries of all records and by showing all data for one or more participants.
• Independently develop, write and run complex computer programs in SAS and R to 1) utilize, summarize, and describe datasets, including frequencies, lists, and plots and 2) perform statistical analyses of biomedical data, employing appropriate statistical methods, such as survival analyses, generalized linear modeling, nonparametric methods and graphical methods. Types of data analyzed include categorical, longitudinal, and censored failure-time data. All programs should be organized and modular.
• Independently perform quality checks for programs that summarize and describe by examining data to identify potential data inconsistencies. Document for review.
• Document programs clearly to facilitate interpretation and general use by other members of the team and by investigators.
• Store all output and programs on servers and file systems accessible to other team members.
• Working closely with investigators, prepare publication-ready figures.
• Conduct investigations as appropriate to ensure assumptions of statistical models developed for analyses are adequately met. Identify concerns.
• Continue to learn to use and apply new statistical techniques necessary to meet the demands of funded studies.
• Recognize system issues and report issues to more senior members of the team.
