Sr. Java FSE with AWS Cloud exp. – Hybrid.

About the role

As a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. With a focus on AWS, SQL, Spring Boot, Java, Spring MVC, and JavaScript, you will contribute to innovative solutions that drive business success. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with other stakeholders and teams.

In this role, you will:

+ Develop and maintain scalable software applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC to meet business requirements.

+ Collaborate with multi-functional teams to craft and implement AWS cloud-based solutions that improve system performance.

+ Use SQL and MySQL to manage and optimize database operations ensuring data integrity and security.

+ Implement front-end features using JavaScript to create interactive and user-friendly interfaces.

What you need to have to be considered:

+ Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and alignment to standard methodologies.

+ Fix and resolve complex technical issues minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth system operations.

+ Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.

+ Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software solutions.

+ Assist in developing user documentation to support software applications and processes.

+ Work closely with team members to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications.

+ Ensure software applications are aligned with company policies and industry regulations.

+ Optimize application performance and scalability through effective coding practices and system architecture.

+ Mentor junior developers sharing knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative team environment.

These will help you stand out:

+ Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

+ 7 + years of overall and relevant experience.

+ Possess strong experience in AWS demonstrating the ability to design and deploy cloud-based solutions.

+ Have a solid understanding of SQL and MySQL with proven skills in database management and optimization.

+ Showcase expertise in Java Spring Boot and Spring MVC with a proven history of successful software development, or equivalent experience.

+ Show expertise in JavaScript with the ability to create dynamic and responsive web applications.

+ Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with the capability to fix and resolve complex technical issues.

+ Exhibit effective communication skills to encourage collaboration with diverse teams and partners.

Salary and compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be between $68,442 to $114,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
