    **EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for a **Sr Manager - Aviation Quality** in our **Hughes Network Systems** division. This role will be responsible for leading the company’s overall quality strategy, ensuring full compliance with aviation regulatory requirements, industry standards (AS9100, FAA, etc.), supplier compliance and exceeding customer expectations. This role oversees all quality assurance, quality control, and compliance activities to support operational excellence and risk mitigation in aviation production and service environments.

    Responsibilities:

    + Contribute to the development, implementation, and continual improvement of a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with AS9100 and other applicable aerospace standards.

    + Lead and mentor the Aviation quality team, including quality engineers, inspectors, and compliance personnel. Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive Aviation Quality excellence across the organization.

    + Ensure adherence to all FAA, EASA, and customer-specific quality requirements, inclusive of gaining Part 21 and 145 approvals.

    + Manage all internal and external audits (including 3rd party suppliers), including AS9100 surveillance audits, and maintain certification status.

    + Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for Aviation quality performance and continuous improvement, internally as well as external 3rd party suppliers.

    + Oversee root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and non-conformance management.

    + Partner with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, 3rd party suppliers, and executive teams to drive quality into all business processes.

    + Promote a strong culture of quality, compliance, accountability, and proactive problem solving.

    + Conduct audits and reviews of third party suppliers

    + Interface directly with customers on quality matters, including audits, scorecards, and issue resolution.

    + Ensure proper document control, training, and communication related to quality policies and procedures.

    Basic Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, aviation technology, quality, or a related technical field.

    + 10 years of experience in aerospace/aviation quality management roles.

    + Full knowledge of AS9100 standards and experience maintaining certification.

    + Prior experience leading audits, quality teams, and compliance programs.

    + Prior work and knowledge regarding FAA Part 145, 21, and/or 25 regulatory environments.

    • **Preferred Qualifications:**

    + Certified AS9100 Lead Auditor or equivalent.

    + Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing experience.

    + Master’s degree in business, engineering, and/or quality.

    + Experience with MRO, OEM, or aerospace component and/or LRU manufacturing.

    + Strong leadership and people management skills.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Results-oriented with a data-driven mindset.

    + Strategic thinking with attention to detail.

    + Conflict resolution and decision-making under pressure.

     

    Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

     

    The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
