    Qualifications

    Educational and other Requirements for the position:

    MD or PhD, or equivalent

    Experience Required:

    Ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experimental skills and will be able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary research environment. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively; design, execute, analyze and interpret results of experiments with the close mentorship of the PI; present results in internationally renowned conferences; write and disseminate findings through manuscripts; and effectively seek extramural fellowship and funding opportunities. Strong team spirit, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn are non-negotiable attributes.

    The candidate should possess:

    + substantial experience in molecular and cellular biology;

    + advanced knowledge of biosensors, live-cell, or confocal microscopy;

    + good communication skills, and command of spoken and written English;

    + knowledge and strong interest in mechanobiology.

    Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project:

    The position is funded for one-year with potential to extend up to five years based upon review. Postdoctoral fellows at Mount Sinai are unionized, guaranteed subsidized housing in New York City, and compensated well above other academic centers or even industry positions.     Responsibilities

    **Details of Research Project** :

    A postdoctoral position is open investigating molecular interactions of lipid metabolism and cytoskeletal dynamics. The studies will focus on the metabolic control of cell, cytoskeletal, and membrane biomechanics as well as the regulation of cellular motility and collective migration.

    **Technical Duties:** (include any protocols)

    + Manuscript and grant writing, editing and review, and preparation of presentations;

    + Work with biosensors, live-cell or confocal microscopy;

    + Execution of assays;

    + Design, microfabrication and testing of tissue engineered filtration systems;

    + Develop and implement complex research plans;

    + High-end microscopical imaging including super-resolution, atomic force and electron microscopy;

    + Machine learning-based image processing and big data analytics

    Compensation Statement

    Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
