UPMC is hiring a Full-Time Cardiology Technician to support the Harrisburg Hospital

Schedule:

Monday through Friday with the option of either 5 8-hour shifts or 4 10-hour shifts starting at 6:30am

No weekends, holidays or on-call required

Performs specialized clinical functions related to the Cardiac & Vascular Dept.

Responsibilities:

+ Assist with Transesophageal Echo

+ Prep and prepare patients for TEE'S

+ Provide care to the CV adult and geriatric patient.

+ Perform correct and accurate procedure documentation

+ Helps EP/Cath/IR/Hybrid procedure turnaround efficiencies.

+ Order supplies for Cardiac & Vascular Dept

+ Transport

+ Other duties as assigned

+ H.S. Diploma or equivalent required

+ 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Cardiovascular Technician or a Paramedic is required.

+ Graduate of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.

+ Knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology of the heart.

+ Ability to think and act independently.

+ Computer skills are highly preferred. Basic arthemia course and pass written exam with 80% score or higher.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

+ Act 33 with renewal

+ Act 34 with renewal

+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
