**Austin Bridge & Road** is currently seeking an experienced **Concrete Paving Superintendent** to lead heavy civil paving projects in **North Texas** . This role is critical for managing daily field operations, ensuring quality and safety, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining strong relationships with project stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead day-to-day field operations for concrete paving projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety standards.
+ Implement and enforce jobsite safety protocols, conduct hazard assessments, and coordinate with safety personnel and inspectors.
+ Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan site logistics, including paving sequences, equipment staging, and traffic control.
+ Develop and manage daily and weekly paving schedules, ensuring efficient use of crews, equipment, and materials.
+ Monitor concrete placement, finishing, curing, and jointing to ensure compliance with specifications and high-quality standards.
+ Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and execution of work.
+ Provide technical guidance to resolve field issues and optimize paving methods and productivity.
+ Track labor, equipment, and material costs, and assist in schedule and budget adjustments as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable construction laws, codes, and company policies.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, and vendors.
+ Support team development through training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
+ Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with a focus on concrete paving (DOT, municipal, or large-scale infrastructure projects).
+ Proven leadership in managing paving crews and subcontractors on complex roadway or infrastructure projects.
+ Proficient in construction management software (e.g., HCSS Heavy Job) and daily reporting tools.
+ Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality control.
+ Willingness to work night shifts and extended hours as required by project demands.
+ Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Requirements:
+ High School Diploma/GED or higher.
+ Valid driver’s license.
+ Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
+ Must be available for on-call work as needed.
