Job Description:

Under guidance of Manufacturing Engineers, execute the following as assigned:

Machining

+ Assist with the programming, tooling, fixturing, gaging and processing of products on standard and CNC equipment

+ Assist with development of best practices and commonality for CNC machining applications

+ Work as directed with Mfg Engineers and Quality/inspection personnel to assist in coordination of inspection frequency/requirements

+ Work with fixture design and build specifications

+ Participate as directed in process improvement initiatives

Assembly

+ Assist the manufacturing assembly engineers in processing, developing methods of assembly and teaching these methods to floor personnel

+ Participate as directed in process improvement initiatives

General

+ Assist Manufacturing Engineers in working with outside vendors on make/buy product problems or studies

+ Perform formal drawing updates for and maintain the hard drawing files for tooling, fixtures and gages

+ Coordinate and monitor progress as directed with in-house tool room support projects

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

+ Candidate must have consistent enrollment in bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

+ Background in machining processes, tooling, equipment and CNC technology.

+ 5 Years Manual and CNC Machining Experience.

+ Must be able to read machining and assembly prints and correlate them with the Bill of Material and processes.

+ Must have an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing techniques.

+ Must understand metric measurements and tooling.

+ Must be familiar with, and able to utilize all Microsoft Office Applications with good written and verbal communication skills required.

+ Must be eligible to qualify for a security clearance.

+ Must be able to move freely, with or without reasonable accommodation, throughout a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Additional Skills:

+ Background in machining processes, tooling, equipment and CNC technology

+ CNC programming experience in Mastercam, M & G Codes

+ Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma and SPC methods

+ An understanding of working with CAD models and programs in Pro E and Auto CAD.

+ Project Management experience, have used MS Project in the past and have developed Statement of Work, Work Breakdown Structure, and Schedules
