Systems Administrator Senior

Our work depends on Systems Administrator Senior joining our team to provide in-depth knowledge and expertise to a secure communications project for the Department of State.

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems

• Perform systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end

• Provides and applies engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools

• Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems

• Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects

• Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes

• Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency

• Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure

• Implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools

• Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance

• May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

• May serve as a team or task lead

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: Requires an engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience

• Required Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux

• Security Clearance Level: Active Secret Clearance is required

• Required Skills and Abilities: Strong technical communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively

• Preferred Skills: Experience with Splunk, ScienceLogic, VMWare products (such as vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon VDI). Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and/or C#. Experience managing Active Directory including group policies and DNS.

• Location: Full time on customer site in Springfield, VA

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
