New Generation Farms

We’re looking for an experienced Livestock Handler to help care for our cattle and assist with daily farm operations. Ideal candidates are hardworking, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal care.

Responsibilities:

Livestock Handling:

+ Safely move cattle between pastures, barns, and feedlots.

+ Help with loading/unloading cattle for transport, ensuring humane handling.

+ Assist with sorting and grouping cattle for breeding, feeding, and health checks.

+ Feed livestock, ensuring each animal receives the correct type and amount of feed.

+ Assist with the breeding program, including the care of pregnant livestock and the management of birthing processes.

+ Comfortable working with large animals in a physically active environment.

+ Monitor the health of all animals, administering basic veterinary care and notifying the farm manager of any signs of illness or injury.

+ Participate in the tagging of livestock to ensure proper identification.

+ Manage pasture rotation to ensure sustainable grazing practices and optimal forage for livestock.

Facility & Equipment Maintenance:

+ Operate and maintain machinery and equipment, such as tractors and ATV’s.

+ Keep barns, pens, and pastures clean and safe.

+ Disinfect equipment and feeding areas to maintain health standards.

+ Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fences, pastures, and farm equipment to ensure the safety and security of the animals and equipment.

Physical Requirements

+ Ability to lift/move up to 65 lbs.

+ Able to bend, squat, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods.

+ Willing to work in varying weather conditions.

Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with cattle and livestock.

+ Knowledge of animal behavior, care, and welfare.

+ Ability to safely handle large animals and operate farm equipment.

+ Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

+ Team player with clear communication skills.

Schedule:

+ 8 hour shift

+ Overtime

+ Rotating weekends

+ Weekends as needed

Ability to Commute:

+ Cattaraugus, NY 14719 (Required)

Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.20
