Our products define new categories that advance Meta's mission to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.We seek an Audio Systems Engineer to join our Audio Experience Team. As a team member, you will be working on new hardware and software technologies for our consumer electronics products and innovating on audio quality metrics and test methods.

    Required Skills:

    Audio Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

    1. Analyze, define, tune, and debug real-time audio render systems for forward looking products and user experiences

    2. Identify and implement new technologies, techniques, and performance measurement methods to improve product performance

    3. Implement and automate data collection and test systems to efficiently bridge the gap between perceptual quality and objective metrics

    4. Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies and define key performance indicators for novel user experiences

    5. Evaluate and benchmark performance of third party audio products and stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements

    6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions and champion best practices for audio render system architecture design across our smart glasses and other consumer electronics product programs

    Minimum Qualifications:

    7. 2+ years of experience tuning and testing audio render systems and real-time audio algorithms

    8. 2+ years of experience executing data collection and performance validation for consumer electronics devices and audio algorithms or features such as voice communication, media playback, and spatial audio using SoundCheck, Audio Precision, or HEAD Acoustics ACQUA

    9. 2+ years of experience with Matlab or Python scripting

    10. 2+ years of experience prototyping and demonstrating compelling audio experiences with end-to-end audio systems including acoustics, transducers, and digital signal processing

    11. Familiarity with typical Digital Signal Processesing (DSP) building blocks such as digital biquad filters, Infinite Impulse Response (IIR), Finite Impulse Response (FIR), wide-band/multi-band Dynamic Range Compression (DRC)

    12. Experience operating under your own initiative, communicating effectively, embracing ambiguity, and contributing to audio workstreams in a cross functional environment, from product concept to mass production

    13. BS in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Digital Signal Processing, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience

    15. Familiarity with audio integrated circuits and digital interfaces, microphone and loudspeaker arrays, audio algorithm development

    16. Knowledge on statistics and perceptual audio evaluation methods

    17. Knowledge of Music Enhancement Audio algorithms, telecommunication standards, human perception of spatial sound, machine learning techniques and/or neural network implementation

    Public Compensation:

    $111,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
