Description
Position Title: VOAChild Care Center Director
Reports to: The President & CEO
Exempt/Non-Exempt Status: Exempt
Pay range: $70,000-$75,000
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of the Children’s Center fosters an environment that encourages children, their families and staff to develop to their full potential. He or she is a role model and will lead the center staff in providing a nurturing environment for children. The Director manages the center in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards. He or she is responsible for maximizing revenue and controlling expenses to maintain financial stability.
Essential Functions:
+ Oversee the day to day functions of the children’s center. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation of the child care program.
+ Oversee the maintenance of files according to and records related to OCFS requirements
+ Maintain open, consistent and effective communication with parents, providing parent education training, assistance and support as needed.
+ Provide reliable, accurate and timely information about the child center to interested parties.
+ Provide direct supervision to management staff, including team meetings, individual meetings and performance management.
+ Ensure program is in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including state regulations, accreditation standards and UPK standards.
+ Develop, in conjunction with the Finance department and Policy Committee, the annual budget for the center.
+ Monitor enrollment, attendance and billing to maximize revenue.
+ Monitor expenditures to reduce and/or control expenses.
+ Develop short- and long-term goals for the center; monitor progress on goals and ensure completion.
+ Establish and maintain positive relationships with appropriate community agencies.
+ Serve as member of the agency leadership team.
+ Communicate effectively with staff, students, and their families.
ENROLLMENT:
+ Overseas all enrollment, recruitment, selection and attendance processes for daycare. Including recruitment processes, parent follow-up, data entry, tracking, etc.
+ Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, including 12 credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
1-3 years teaching experience
1-3 years supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in ECE or related field (with a minimum of 12 credits in ECE/Child Development)
5 years teaching experience
5 years supervisory experience

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
