Position Overview

The organization is seeking a versatile and forward-thinking AI Engineer to join our team at Eurofins Food Chemistry Testing in Madison. This role will lead the advancement and implementation of artificial intelligence solutions across a wide range of operational and scientific functions. This position presents an opportunity to contribute to the strategic evolution of AI integration in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ AI Solution Development: Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models to support client service automation, electronic order processing, and laboratory data analytics.

+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI opportunities.

+ IT & Security Coordination: Work closely with local and global IT teams to ensure AI tools meet security and compliance standards.

+ Project Leadership: Lead or contribute to AI initiatives from ideation through implementation, including proof-of-concept development and performance evaluation.

+ Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging AI technologies and propose tools or methodologies that can enhance productivity and innovation across the lab.

+ Communication & Influence: Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making without formal authority.

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

+ 3+ years of experience in AI/ML development, preferably in a scientific, healthcare, or operational setting.

+ Proficiency in Python and common ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate autonomously and within cross-functional teams.

+ Superior communication abilities and a demonstrated history of cross-functional teamwork.

Preferred:

+ Experience with AI applications in customer service, order processing, or laboratory operations.

+ Familiarity with ML-Ops practices and deployment of AI models in production environments.

+ Exposure to natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or data mining techniques.
