Senior Software Engineer.

About the role:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will make an impact by conducting requirements using strong technical expertise in C Linux and C++ along with domain experience in Payer. You will be a valued member of the Healthcare team and work collaboratively with managers, developers, and other stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

• Interact with product owners and business owners to understand the business need from an end-user perspective.

• Participate in business requirements and functional requirements gathering, which involves a review of existing systems configurations and operating methodologies as well as understanding evolving business needs as a very first step in the project inception.

• Providing Architectural Solution, developing code based on established best practice methods of Cognizant coding standard, convention, practices, and processes following a defined IT strategy approach to the creation of the customized software solutions requiring the application of advanced and complex IT theories and methods.

• Will also be responsible for guiding team for any interface changes with third party applications which need to be identified for any new WSDLs development that satisfies the contract published to external web services.

Work model: Remote.

What you need to have to be considered:

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in C Linux and C++ with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of the Payer domain with experience in developing solutions tailored to this sector.

• Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Show a strong understanding of software development life cycle methodologies and best practices.

• Have experience working in a hybrid work model with the ability to manage tasks both remotely and on-site.

• Display effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science information technology or a related field.

These will help you stand out.

• Knowledge of C, C++, Java, PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, Multithreading, GIT, SVN, Azure Devops, Jenkins, Eclipse, Centura, Tuxedo, Python, Pro*C, Google Test/Mock, MongoDB, UNIX Scripting.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until 7/23/2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 - $93,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
