Job Summary:
Networks, a leading provider in the fiber to the home industry. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain complex systems and infrastructure to support our communications network and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems.
Essential Functions:
+ Design, deploy, configure, and maintain localize enterprise-level virtual and physical systems.
+ Deployment and management of both Linux and Windows servers, VMWare platforms, and the application services running on them.
+ Integrate hardware and software systems to support internal operations and customer-facing services.
+ Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and up time.
+ Collaborate with network engineers, software developers, and IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
+ Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades and migrations.
+ Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
+ Ensure compliance with industry standards and company security protocols.
+ Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to support business needs.
+ Manage system backups, disaster recovery plans, and risk assessments to maintain business continuity.
+ Interpreted scripting. Some object-oriented software development, including coding, testing, and debugging.
+ Microsoft 365 administration.
+ Amazon Web Services (AWS) administration.
+ Security monitoring and vulnerability remediation.
+ Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting advanced systems’ issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
+ Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-level Linux and Windows systems (e.g., Red Hat, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Windows Server 2022/2025).
+ Hands-on expertise with virtualization platforms and cloud environments, including VMware ESXi, VMware vSphere, and AWS.
+ Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including server architecture, system integration, and storage solutions (e.g., Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, PowerVault, and EMC Data Domain).
+ Proficiency in scripting and automation for system administration and deployment (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
+ Working knowledge of security protocols and best practices, including system hardening, vulnerability remediation, SSL/TLS, and VPN technologies.
+ Familiarity with authentication and identity management systems (e.g., Active Directory, FreeRADIUS, OpenLDAP, TACACS+).
+ Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Datto) and business continuity planning.
+ Ability to monitor and troubleshoot systems using tools like Nagios, Checkmk, SolarWinds, or similar.
+ Experience administering Microsoft 365 and managing cloud-based applications.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve technical issues and support cross-functional teams.
+ Effective communication skills to document systems, write procedures, and translate complex concepts to non-technical users.
+ Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and modern development practices is a plus.
+ Telecom industry experience or an understanding of telecom infrastructure and network operations is strongly preferred.
Other Requirements:
+ College degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, another related field, or equivalent knowledge gained via work experience.
+ 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or related IT roles, preferably within the telecom industry.
Compensation:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
