Starting Annual Salary:** **$79,260
This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City’s collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Under supervision, assists in maintaining integrated database systems and implementing new database technologies, and performs related duties as required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Reviews designs of new database systems of limited complexity in order to ensure efficient performance and data integrity
• Supports and enhances the applications developed in the departments low code no code platform called Caspio.
• Monitors and evaluates the use and performance of existing database systems to ensure maximum utilization of disk space and modifies access paths and reconfigures, as required
• Maintains security and update procedures for the Data Dictionary
• Assists in resolving operational problems between databases and operating systems
• Reviews backup and recovery techniques and security architectures to protect systems and data against disk-level failures and unauthorized access
• Documents database techniques, procedures, and standards
• Assists in performing database administration functions
• Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents computer programs
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable data models and reporting structures
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, queries, and views to support business intelligence and analytics needs
• Participate in system integration and automation efforts across platforms (Caspio, Salesforce)
• Assist in data quality assurance, validation, and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Provide user support and training on data systems, dashboards, and reporting tools
• Stay current with database technologies and best practices to recommend system improvements and optimizations

THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology/Systems or a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral part of the interview will be selected.
**NOTE:** You must provide your transcripts or diploma at the time of processing
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
• Proficiency with the Salesforce, Service Now, MuleSoft, or any other CRM, Data warehousing ETL Process, power BI dashboards
• Previous experience with database administration
• Previous project management experience
• Previous experience developing software
• Previous experience with data analytics
+ Familiarity with low-code/no-code development environments such as Caspio, Microsoft Power Apps, or Appian
+ Experience building custom reports and dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms
+ Understanding of relational and non-relational database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
+ Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for automation and data processing
+ Experience working with REST APIs or data integration tools for system to system communication
+ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a focus on data driven decision-making
+ Ability to document technical workflows and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
