Job Title: Software Manufacturing Process Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a LabVIEW Developer to lead manufacturing test systems development efforts. This position supports our new product design initiatives by developing manufacturing and test systems, creating and improving processes within the team, and ensuring adherence to all processes. As part of a project team, you will collaborate on product design with an emphasis on manufacturability to fulfill lean manufacturing objectives for electronic assemblies such as joysticks, controllers, displays, and sensors for off-road equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Lead development of process controls and functional tests in the LabVIEW programming environment.
+ Recommend new technologies including AI, VR, robotics, and light-guided assembly to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency.
+ Develop and maintain product configuration tools.
+ Understand requirements for production through knowledge of embedded and application software.
+ Lead design of production cells for new product introductions, including assembly automation, testing, and packaging.
+ Develop and approve specifications, implement processes for assembly and testing of new/revised products, establish goals, train team members, and evaluate results.
+ Design, develop, test, source, and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
+ Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards.
+ Prepare project documentation, including diagrams or layouts.
+ Provide verbal or written project status reports to project teams, management, subcontractors, or customers.
Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or related engineering field.
+ 4+ years of experience with LabVIEW.
+ 4+ years of developing test systems for manufacturing environments.
+ Experience in developing complex LabVIEW test systems from scratch.
+ Familiarity with additional software systems such as Python, C++, and C#.
+ Nice to have: LabVIEW Development, Test Stand, National Instruments experience.
+ CLD Certified LabVIEW Developer and CLA Certified LabVIEW Architect.
+ Software development skills (LabVIEW, Python, C#, C++).
+ Database architecture design for storing and analyzing production information.
+ Proficiency in SVN or other code management systems for source code control.
+ Expertise in communication protocols (CAN) and debugging techniques.
+ Experience with Mechanical/Electrical drawings for industrial equipment.
+ Informal leadership skills for guiding team members to accomplish project tasks.
+ Ability to manage tasks and collaborate on project schedules.
+ Ability to identify and drive improvement initiatives within the team.
+ Effective communication skills for conveying information to development engineers, production operators, and management teams.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
+ Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
+ Ability to read and interpret test specifications and electrical schematics for determining proper test methodology.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
