    About the role:

    Tapestry is building an AI-driven grid model that handles data from dozens of sources around the globe. Our roadmap is ambitious, and as we build, we need to make decisions that consider a rapidly changing world. We are looking for an attorney to embed with our product strategy and development process, accelerating our ability to delight our customers and solve their complex and long-term challenges while meeting the highest standards for product and data privacy.

     

    You are an attorney with experience navigating today’s top challenges in data handling, privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance. You are solutions-oriented and have a track record of supporting technical and commercial teams with smart options for short-term and long-term goals. You have a strong voice and can help uplevel an organization’s ability to incorporate legal frameworks into product strategy. You have expertise in the world of electric grids and are passionate about solving its bottlenecks.

    How you’ll make 10X impact:

    + Support Tapestry’s executive team, technical leaders, and commercial leaders in establishing and evolving Tapestry’s data and cybersecurity strategy.

    + Be solutions-oriented while clearly presenting tradeoffs to stakeholders.

    + Establish streamlined processes for legal reviews, input, and compliance assurance.

    + Be an active participant in evolving AI, data, and cybersecurity regulations.

    + Become a critical team member in product strategy and development, incorporating legal frameworks that can evolve with the changing landscape into Tapestry’s strategy and processes.

    + Support product efforts to track relevant regulatory and market shifts and contribute to value chain mapping for Tapestry’s products.

    + Present to Tapestry’s board of directors and other external stakeholders as necessary.

    + Work cross-functionally to de-risk other non-technical aspects of Tapestry, partnering with Finance, Policy, Marketing/PR, Operations, etc.

     

    What you should have

     

    :

     

    + A JD degree.

    + 7+ years of relevant experience in a data-heavy industry at a law firm, startup, developer, or other relevant organization.

    + US experience in laws and regulations regarding data handling for AI software products (required, at least one other region preferred).

    + Experience with cybersecurity software products.

    + Team mentality and a strong track record of working directly with technology and commercial teams to build and deliver products.

     

    It’d be great if you also had these

     

    :

     

    + Basic understanding of software development processes.

    + Thrive on ambiguity, setting own goals and effectively delivering to them in a very fast-changing environment.

    + Ability to influence without authority, working with technical and cross-functional teams who do not report into this role to get things done.

    + Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment, leadership skills, and ability to communicate with a senior management team.

    + Attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills.

    + Fast learner with capacity to learn about a wide spread of different technologies & industries.

    + Passion for the energy space, fantastic if you have power industry experience

     

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000 - $332,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
