The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a **_Women’s Health_** **_Nurse Practitioner_** to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team, responsible for providing comprehensive gynecologic care for ambulatory and inpatient populations. In this role the provider will see inpatient consultations and hold outpatient clinic. Responsibilities encompass establishing medical diagnoses, performing diagnostic studies, performing therapeutic procedures, and providing follow-up care. Physical examinations, including pelvic exams, will be conducted, along with other relevant procedures. The Women’s Health CO Nurse Practitioner practice within the guidelines of the department and the institution in accordance with the State of Maryland. The Nurse Practitioner is granted affiliate staff privileges by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Women’s Center at White Marsh, Gyn/Ob at Johns Hopkins Odenton and Johns Hopkins Women’s Center at Greenspring Station. These privileges are renewed annually.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
_Ob/Gyn Clinic_
+ Care for gynecologic patients seeking well-woman care, problem-focused gynecologic care (including abnormal bleeding, vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, contraception, menopause, UTIs, vaginitis, STDs etc.)
+ Initiation of contraception for postpartum patients (IUD-insertion and removals, OCP, Depo-Provera, etc.) Insertion and removal of contraceptive implants.
+ Evaluation and management of gyn problems. Perform endometrial biopsy, vulva biopsy, other diagnostic procedures as appropriate.
+ Evaluation and management of urogynecology problems, including incontinence and pessary care.
+ Order appropriate labs, ultrasounds and consults as needed and provide appropriate follow up and treatment.
+ Participate in education of learners, including Johns Hopkins medical and nursing students.
_Gyn Consultations in JHBMC Emergency Department and Inpatient Units_
+ Performs consultations by obtaining a history, performing physical exam, interpreting laboratory and radiographic reports, and forming an assessment and plan of care for all assigned adolescent and adult patients. Collaborates with residents in the management of consultations. Reviews consultations with the attending physician in a timely fashion.
+ Utilizing data obtained from history, physical examination, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures, develops and implements individualized care plan with patient/family based on diagnosis, patient care/age-specific needs and patient outcomes.
+ Prescribes and treats health needs of patients. Evaluates pharmacotherapeutic and non-pharmacological regimens and prescribes appropriately as authorized.
+ Effectively communicates, coordinates, and collaborates in the implementation of plans of care with the nursing staff.
+ Accurately evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care and in conjunction with the appropriate collaborating physician, may alter the plan.
+ Effectively communicates with adolescent and adult patients, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their care.
+ Reviews charts and elicits information necessary for ongoing patient monitoring, screening, treatment, education and counseling.
+ Maintains appropriate patient records. Documents treatment plans, historical and physical findings, consults, teaching and counseling in compliance with hospital and clinical standards.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Master's Degree in Nursing.
+ Registered Nurse license and Certified as a Nurse Practitioner.
+ Must be licensed as NP in State of Maryland or other state where practicing.
+ Current BLS/CPR certification required. Must maintain current licensure and certification during duration of employment.
+ Completion of the JHBMC credentialing process is required prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in performing endometrial biopsies.
+ Experience in inserting and removing intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants.
+ Experience in pessary management.

Starting Salary Range: $100,000 - $152,900 Annually ($130,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
