    The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a **_Research Assistant_** to contribute to projects in computational imaging research, with a focus on algorithm development, machine learning, and computational modeling with applications to biomedicine. The position is limited to the summer term (three months).

     

    **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** :

    + Assist with the development and implementation of machine learning models for medical and imaging data analysis.

    + Support algorithm design, optimization, and validation tasks, including work on neural networks, computer vision techniques, and structured data integration.

    + Contribute to research on advanced topics such as generative AI models, foundation models, and plug-and-play priors as applicable to computational imaging.

    + Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and result interpretation under faculty supervision.

    + Assist with manuscript preparation and documentation of research findings.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from an accredited U.S. institution.

    + Proficiency in programming languages including Python, PyTorch, C, C++, and MATLAB, and familiarity with Linux environments.

    + Research experience in machine learning (especially generative AI), computer vision, or algorithm development with applications in computational imaging.

    + At least one peer-reviewed research publications in relevant fields such as machine learning, computer vision, or computational methods.

    Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD

    Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.)

     

    Employee group: Casual / On Call

     

    Schedule: M-F 8-5

     

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity.
