Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Category Manager – Aftermarket and IPO to join our Procurement Organization at our headquarters in Lisle, IL.
The Senior Category Manager-Aftermarket and IPO is responsible for the India and China Procurement Teams supporting all OE and Aftermarket Best Cost Country sourcing requirements. The position will be responsible for OE and Aftermarket components and assemblies with an annual turnover in excess of $200M annually. Key categories include – Aluminum & Iron Castings, Hose & Tubes, Rubber seals, Anti-vibration products, stampings and fabrications in addition to several Aftermarket categories aligning with the Aftermarket Product teams strategy. The position reports directly to the Procurement Director with multiple category managers as direct reports. Key responsibilities include synergizing with Traton brand counter parts, product managers, pricing team and the production Category Managers to support category strategy development and implementation while managing overall Aftermarket purchase spend with a strong focus on delivering key performance indicators.
This person will need to take some early morning and evening calls
Responsibilities
+ Build and develop the team
+ Ability to manage overseas team in India/China and managing geographical time and cultural differences
+ Work closely with the production Sr. Category Managers to develop and execute a sourcing strategy that best supports the overall
+ Category strategy
+ Build and manage relationships with cross functional team members and management
+ Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure that product quality, on time delivery and service levels are met
+ Lead strategic sourcing decisions for both new product launches as well as transfer business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities
+ Identify and develop new cost reduction opportunities using variety of procurement levers including competitive bidding, global sourcing, negotiation, technology, supply chain/footprint optimization, target costing, aftermarket service parts, etc.
+ Analyze commodity spend, including developing recommendations for category and savings opportunities
+ Negotiate with internal customers and external suppliers to maximize results
+ Facilitate communications between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve queries or issues
+ Lead implementation of cost reduction initiatives
+ Lead junior members of the Aftermarket and IPO team in support of the department goals
+ Ability to travel 10-20%
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ At least 6 years of materials management or supply chain experience
+ At least 3 years of leadership experience

+ Master’s degree
+ At least 5 years of materials management or supply chain experience
+ At least 3 years of leadership experience
OR
+ At least 10 years of materials management or supply chain experience
+ At least 3 years of leadership experience
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
