Job Summary

The College of Engineering is seeking an hourly, Academic Wage: Faculty Research Assistant. This is a part-time (0.50 FTE ), 12-month, fixed-term position.

This position is mainly involved in conducting research in vision language models in the 3D space. The responsibilities include programming deep learning algorithms on 3D point clouds and vision language models, conducting experiments on public benchmark datasets, and contributing to and co-authoring publications in this area.

Key Responsibilities

34%Implement algorithms for vision language models in the 3D space

33%Implement computer code for conducting experiments and conduct experiments, defined by supervisor, that test vision language models in the 3D space, including self-implemented and external on public benchmark datasets in a scientific manner.

33%Prepare reports, perform data analysis/draw conclusions from analysis, and assist with writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.

Work collaboratively with staff, faculty, and students to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive research environment.

What You Will Need

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related area

+ Experience working effectively with diverse groups of students, researchers, and staff.

What We Would Like You to Have

+ Strong programming skills

+ Excellent knowledge of deep learning

+ Knowledge of point cloud-based deep networks

+ Knowledge of vision-language models

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

+ All work is performed in computer laboratory environment

Pay Method Hourly

Pay Period 16th - 15th of the following month

Pay Date Last working day of the month

Recommended Full-Time Salary Range Salary is commensurate with skills, education and experience.
