    8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Our Mechanic is a valuable part of our team. Our Mechanics perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance work throughout the facility during their shift. The priorities for this role include: preventative maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, repair of mechanical systems equipment and components, and rebuilding of mechanical systems equipment and components.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform daily maintenance tasks and troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment and systems, including: Extruder, Dryers, Dry bulk storage & conveying, Dilute phase pneumatic conveying, High speed packaging including cartoners, baggers, case-packers, palletizers, low pressure boilers, thermal fluid process heaters, material handling systems, water chillers, compressed air systems, and HVAC systems · Partner with operations and maintenance teams to solve repetitive problems, complete preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance programs and work · Partner with operations to learn operating systems, while providing training on mechanical components · QUALITY - Responsible for maintaining quality parameters for areas of responsibility. · FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES- Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF Systems. · Other duties, as assigned

    Education and Experience Required:

    • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime · High school diploma or GED equivalent from and accredited institution and one of the following: o Two-year associate degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.) o Completed apprenticeship in mechanic, mechanical maintenance, or electro-mechanical, electrical, or related field o Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) o 2+ years hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, or related role
