    Portable Life Support System Project Engineer

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Portable Life Support System Project Engineer to join our team with JETS II Teammate company, Nexus Solutions.

    The PLSS Project Engineer will:

    + Perform project engineering functions supporting the spacesuit Portable Life Support System (PLSS), including hardware development, assembly, and maintenance

    + Define, develop, procure, and build new ground support equipment (GSE) and test support equipment (TSE) needed for the evaluation of spacesuit hardware

    + Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within flight hardware, development test articles, or test support hardware

    + Develop essential documentation for the system including assembly procedures, test plans, detailed test procedures, and any additional operations-related products

    + Design tests, identifying instrumentation and data acquisition systems

    + Coordinate test activities and requirements with test facilities

    + Provide direction to matrix organizations during all phases of hardware requirements development, design, manufacturing, and testing

    + Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

    Requisition Qualifications:

    + Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines. Must be able to present to all levels of management to both internal and external customers

    Requisition Preferences:

    + Experience with JSC hardware processes and procedure development.

    + Experience with spacesuit and/or life support systems.

    + Mechanical Engineering background.

    + Familiarity with common hand tools and proficiency using them to perform assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting on mechanical systems.

    + Prior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analyses.​
