    The emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with board certified physicians and advanced level practitioners who are well-trained to treat emergency needs. MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is certified as a Level IV Trauma Center by the Iowa Department of Public Health.

    Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a RAD Tech PRN.

     

    As a RAD Tech PRN at MercyOne, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies, strive to provide individualized patient care, abide by ALARA to protect patients from excessive radiation, possess the skills and knowledge to evaluate images for diagnostic quality.

    Schedule** **:

    + Varies as PRN

    General Requirements** **:

    + Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors. Complies with ALARA standards, “As Low As Reasonably Achievable”.

    + Works flexible hours, including standby on-call hours, weekends, and Holidays.

    + Reviews providers’ orders and assists providers and nurses with radiology-based questions.

    + Transports patients without harm, utilizing proper body mechanics and ensuring the safety of patients and staff.

    Education** **:

    + Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.

    + Registered in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).

    + Holds current “Permit to Practice” through the State of Iowa.

    + Current CPR certification.
