    About this opportunity

     

    This Studo is a critically acclaimed sandbox game often cited as one of the greatest games of all time. As one of the most popular games in the world today, this AAA studio enjoys a large and active player base who engage with the game across many different channels. As the franchise has expanded with new games, media, parodies, adaptations, merchandise, and events, so to have the ways that players can interact with the game.

     

    To support this channel growth, player lifecycle marketing is looking to add an experienced copy writer to join our growing team. The player lifecycle marketing team is responsible for delivering content across several owned marketing channels, including but not limited to email, push, toast, and in-app messages. Copy writing work is needed to support promotions, player guidance, best practices, web sites, video scripts, first time player experiences, how-tos, and more.

    On a typical day in this role, you might:

    Work with a product marketing manager to design the copy for a future campaign

     

    Critique the tone of voice used in the proposed copy for an upcoming website editorial

     

    Develop best practices for copy treatments for a new marketing channel

     

    Draft the copy for an upcoming promotional email

     

    Design a creative experiment with a data scientist

     

    Follow up on a localization request and report a delay to a stakeholder

     

    Give notes and provide asset request to a creative agency

     

    Deliver or hand back copy from the localization team

     

    Review the script for an upcoming video

     

    Take notes from a customer study or a/b test

     

    Update the lifecycle marketing best practices wiki with new findings

     

    Collaborate with creative leads on brand voice best practices

     

    Youll do this in partnership with a diverse team of marketers, engineers, data scientists, content creators, and product leads. Youll help to set and maintain the quality bar for creative copy, acting as the voice of the franchise across many different channels. Your words will help our players get excited about the game, learn new things about the game, solve their problems, and help them get the most out of their playing experiences.

    Responsibilities

    Design and write copy in support for promotional or transactional campaigns across various channels and platforms

     

    Collaborate with diverse teams to plan out content for major product releases and events

     

    Maintain and study the brand voice for game products and services

     

    Perform editorial review and make changes to written content

     

    Use sources of player data to make changes to content to drive improvements

     

    Own and maintain a franchise copy library

     

    Manage the localization pipeline and localization templates for global campaigns

     

    Manage the creative pipeline and process for global campaigns

     

    Collaborate with your team to plan out content for major product releases and events

     

    Help to define templates, best practices, and standards for writing and publishing content

     

    Edit existing content to conform to standards and best practices

    Skills and Requirements

    Past experience writing end-user facing creative copy such as instructional, conversational, or entertainment purposes (education, instructional design, Help content, voice design, playwriting/screenwriting, narrative design, exhibition/museum design, creative/fiction writing, etc.)

     

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively that is tuned to different audience

     

    A data-driven approach to content planning, execution, validation, and impact analysis

     

    Prior experience managing creative pipelines

     

    Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and ability to work with deadlines

     

    Flexible, versatile writing across form factors, subject matter, and audiences

     

    Self-motivated collaboration and problem-solving skills

     

    English language fluency Experience with games or digital media

     

    General understanding of digital marketing campaign

     

    Technical or creative writing certification

     

    Portfolio of past writing content samples

    Experience playing games null
