    Primary Purpose

     

    The manager, Strategic Pricing and Value Realization, will provide counsel and stewardship on price delivery and execution of Generac’s monetization strategy for profitable growth. This position will lead pricing process execution to support revenue productivity initiatives of the assigned Generac Business Group and drive price optimization strategies across multiple sales channels.

     

    This pricing leadership role will oversee pricing operations, rebate management, and channel pricing strategy ensuring accuracy, compliance, and profitability, working collaboratively across functions – Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain -- to accelerate revenue growth and margin expansion. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration abilities, and experience managing pricing execution in a complex, multi-channel environment. In this role, the individual is expected to be self-led, inquisitive, strong team player and a collaborator. Above all, the candidate must demonstrate a clear desire and ability to drive business results.

    Major Responsibilities

    Pricing Execution & Operations

    + Oversee pricing implementation across products, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

    + Maintain and manage price lists, cost structures, and discount schedules for various channels, including retail, e-commerce, wholesale distribution, and direct sales.

    + Ensure timely execution of price changes, coordinating across Sales, Finance, Operations, IT, and Product teams, and work with Sales Operations and Channel Marketing in communication of the price changes with appropriate messaging to the customers across all channels.

    + Develop and enforce pricing governance processes, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., Robinson-Patman Act, MAP policies).

    + Lead pricing automation initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy in pricing updates and execution.

    Channel Pricing Strategy & Optimization

    + Design and manage channel-specific pricing strategies, ensuring appropriate margin structures across big-box retailers, e-commerce, wholesale distributors, and direct sales.

    + Conduct channel price segmentation analysis to optimize profitability and competitiveness across different customer segments.

    + Establish and enforce Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies to prevent price erosion and protect brand value.

    + Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to define promotional pricing strategies aligned with market trends and competitor activity.

    Rebate & Discount Management

    + Develop and oversee rebate programs, trade discounts, and promotional incentives, ensuring alignment with overall pricing strategy.

    + Collaborate with channel/category finance to track and manage rebate accruals, chargebacks, and payout processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

    + Work closely with finance, sales and marketing to assess the impact of rebates and promotions on overall profitability by category and channel.

    + Implement automated rebate tracking systems to improve visibility and drive efficiency/productivity.

    Competitive & Market Intelligence

    + Conduct market pricing analysis, tracking competitor pricing, promotional trends, and retailer discounting strategies.

    + Provide recommendations for MSRP/MAP, promotional pricing, and tiered discounting structures based on data-driven insights.

    + Partner with category pricing team and product management to assess value-based pricing models for new product launches.

    Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring

    + Improve exiting pricing dashboards and reports to track price realization, discounting trends, and customer-specific pricing performance.

    + Analyze profitability at SKU, category, and customer levels, identifying areas for margin improvement.

    + Work with category pricing team and finance to measure margin impact of pricing strategies, rebates, and discount programs.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    + Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Operations, and IT to streamline pricing execution and ensure smooth customer transitions.

    + Support the Commercial Team in responding to pricing requests, customer quotes, and contract negotiations.

    + Lead pricing system enhancements and automation initiatives to drive operational efficiencies.

    + Work closely with enterprise pricing leaders in building sustainable pricing processes, tools and systems to drive profitable revenue growth

     

    Minimum Job Requirements

    Education

    + Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, economics, or related field

    Certification / License

    + None

    Work Experience

    + Requires a minimum of Five (5) years of cumulative experience in at least two areas out of: Revenue management, Marketing, Product management, Sales/Market strategy, Merchandizing, Service Operations, Supply Chain or Commercial Finance.

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

    + A fundamental understanding of pricing concepts and frameworks is required.

    + Position requires a solid grasp of quantitative analysis, finance, and statistics. The ability to create quantitative models for pricing analysis and work with large complex data sets is required.

    + Advanced Excel skills are required.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and department staff.

    + Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, are required.

    + An ability to effectively manage time and business priorities is required.

    + Ability to travel to Generac facilities globally to collaborate with team members in person, if needed.

     

    Preferred Job Requirements

    Education

    + MBA or master’s degree in economics, Data Sciences is recommended.

    Certification / License

    + Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) is preferred (but not required)

    Work Experience

    + 8 or more years of progressive pricing experience in durable goods, industrial manufacturing or technology industries is desirable

    + Strong experience managing pricing operations, channel pricing, and rebate programs in a manufacturing or consumer products environment.

    + Ability to manage complex pricing structures across multiple sales channels.

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

    + Proficiency in pricing analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, or pricing software like PROS, Pricefx, Vendavo etc.).

    + Experience with ERP and CRM systems (SAP, Salesforce, etc.)

    + Desire to continuously explore advanced analytics in pricing, and algorithmic pricing engine using AI/machine-learning.

    + Strategic thinking and ability to identify growth levers.

    + Able to influence others without direct authority and work effectively with all levels of the organization.

    + Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodology is desirable.

    + Member of Professional Pricing Society or relevant external professional group.

    + Effective disruptor - willing to push for change.

    + Challenger mindset - ability to push past status quo & obstacles to implement vision.

    **Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
