Description

Our client, an expanding nonprofit organization, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join their high-performing and forward-thinking finance team. As a trusted partner to the Controller, the Senior Accounting Manager will drive innovation, elevate operational excellence, and lead a team during a pivotal phase of organizational growth.

Overall, this critical position will strategically execute all aspects of financial reporting and technical accounting, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, fund accounting principles, and nonprofit regulatory standards. This includes full oversight of the general ledger, ownership of the monthly and year-end close processes, and responsibility for maintaining the integrity of financial data across multiple funding sources and program areas. The Senior Accounting Manager will navigate complex accounting treatments, including restricted funds, multi-year grants, and functional expense allocations such as evaluating the financial impact of new programs and funding arrangements. Finally, the Senior Accounting Manager will offer strategic insight into the appropriate accounting methodologies and supporting leadership with data-driven decision-making. In other words, ensuring compliance while enabling the organization to maximize the use of its resources in service of its mission.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field

+ Nonprofit background, including grants exposure

+ Audit foundation and/or CPA highly preferred

+ Demonstrated success in leading teams and driving organizational excellence

+ Extensive knowledge of GAAP
