Job Title: Database Analyst
Job Type: Contract
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-driven Database Analyst to support our data management, reporting, and decision-making processes. The Database Analyst will be responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data stored in various database systems. This role serves as a bridge between technical teams and business units, ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Analyze, interpret, and maintain large data sets from multiple sources
+ Develop queries, views, and stored procedures to support data extraction and reporting
+ Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities within datasets and communicate findings to stakeholders
+ Assist with data integrity, validation, and cleansing efforts
+ Collaborate with developers and database administrators to ensure database efficiency and accuracy
+ Create and maintain dashboards and performance reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel
+ Document database designs, workflows, and data dictionaries
+ Support data migration and transformation efforts during system upgrades or new implementations
+ Participate in data governance and compliance initiatives
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
+ 2+ years of experience in database analysis, data reporting, or a related role
+ Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
+ Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
+ Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with Python, R, or other data analysis tools
+ Knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery)
+ Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
+ Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple data sources
+ Certifications in data analysis, SQL, or BI tools (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate)
