• Adjunct Instructor of Spanish

    North Central College, IL (Naperville, IL)


    Position Summary:

    The Department of World Languages and Cultures in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for an adjunct, non-tenure track position in Spanish, to begin on August 20, 2025.

    The duties in this role include:

    + Deliver communicative instruction following the provided syllabus and textbook, for a variety of sections in elementary and intermediate Spanish courses during the fall and spring semesters of the 2025-2026 academic year.

    + Assess students’ work and provide detailed feedback on how to improve students’ oral and written communication skills in Spanish.

    + Report midterm and final grades to Registrar within the college due dates and platforms.

    + Communicate regularly and timely with the Elementary Spanish Coordinator and the World Languages and Cultures Chair about the general development of the courses and/or any issues that may arise.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + The successful candidate will have completed a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Literature or related fields.

    + The qualified individual should demonstrate high-advanced, native-like, or native fluency in Spanish at the oral and written levels.

    + Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with teaching Spanish, Linguistics or Literature.

    + Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, teaching, and research.

    Salary Range:

    The budgeted salary range for this position is $3,840 to $4,380 per 4 credit hour course.
