Senior** **Java** **Developer w/AWS (Hybrid)
We are seeking a **Senior Developer Java/AWS** to design, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance software solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep expertise in Java, Microservices architecture, Kafka, and Spring frameworks to build scalable and secure systems.
Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)
Hybrid position, 3 days a week at the office.
Responsibilities
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within a dynamic Agile environment.
• Design and develop software solutions using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Utilize AWS services including EKS, ECS, Lambda, Aurora Postgres, MSK (Kafka), and infrastructure as code with Terraform
• Implement logging and monitoring tools such as Datadog; manage security using AWS Security Groups.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications
• Conduct thorough testing and promptly resolve bugs or coding issues.
• Contribute to high-quality team deliverables and continuously seek to expand technical skills.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, Oracle, and Invest API
• Practical experience with AWS tools and platforms (EKS, Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS, Terraform); AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certification is a plus
• Familiarity with rules engines such as Drools
• Experience with on-prem cloud environments like JPMC Gaia is a plus
• Skilled in using Jules and Jenkins for building and deployment
• Excellent communication skills and hands-on experience in Scrum Agile methodology
• Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
• Self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a desire to learn
Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $68,422– $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
