Objective

Join a well-established manufacturing organization serving the Oil & Gas and Industrial sectors. This role seeks a skilled Design Engineer specialist to enhance manufacturing excellence and drive innovation across dual facility operations. The position offers the opportunity to work within a century-old company backed by substantial resources, focusing on delivering high-quality solutions to a diverse global customer base.

Responsibilities

+ Engineer and refine gear production methodologies encompassing machining, hobbing, grinding, and thermal treatment processes

+ Analyze technical drawings and product specifications to maintain quality benchmarks and performance criteria

+ Evaluate and recommend optimal tooling, materials, and equipment for gear manufacturing operations

+ Create custom fixtures and specialized tooling solutions to enhance production capabilities

+ Champion continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles

+ Partner with cross-functional teams including design, quality assurance, and production to address manufacturing obstacles

+ Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement corrective measures for gear-related product issues

+ Maintain expertise in industry developments, gear standards (AGMA, ISO), and advancing technologies

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent discipline

+ Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in high-volume gear manufacturing environments

+ Proven experience developing heat treatment protocols with strong metallurgical background

+ Comprehensive knowledge of gear configurations (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and cutting techniques

+ Proficiency with CNC machining systems, CAD/CAM applications, and gear design software

+ Deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles; Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred

+ Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to collaborate effectively in team-oriented environments
