Technology Support Specialist
The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for providing daily technical support for all end-user computing devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, classroom technology, and peripheral hardware. This position works directly with faculty, staff, and students to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, configure devices, and support the deployment of new equipment. The technician reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and works closely with the Enterprise Technology Specialist on broader technology initiatives.
This is a full-time position domiciled at the LSMSA campus. The position includes all benefits afforded to Louisiana state employees, including health insurance and retirement contributions.

Minimum Qualifications
Required
+ Minimum of 5 years of progressive, hands-on IT experience and/or recognized technical certifications
+ Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise IT systems in production environments
+ Experience with data management and project coordination
+ Ability to script and automate tasks via API interfaces, command shells, and SDKs
+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with high discretion
+ Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
+ Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
+ Possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license to attend statewide meetings and conferences
+ Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check
Preferred
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
+ Experience in an educational setting, K-12 or Higher Education
+ In-depth knowledge of cloud services, network security, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure solutions
+ Experience supporting systems such as Blackbaud Education, Microsoft 365, VMware, NetApp, Synology, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, and Cisco Umbrella
+ Combined minimum of 10 years of experience
Job Duties and Other Information
System Leadership & Management (40%)
+ Serve as the technical lead for key school systems, including but not limited to Blackbaud Education, Microsoft 365, VMware, Veeam Backup, NetApp, Synology, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, and Cisco Umbrella
+ Collaborate with the CIO to plan, implement, and support current and future IT projects and system upgrades
+ Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends
+ Provide cross-platform support and lead integration of new systems or technologies adopted by the school
+ Coordinate with vendors and service providers for technical support, warranties, and licensing
+ Interface with Facilities/Physical Plant on joint technology infrastructure projects
+ Participate in cyber security management and planning
+ Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing exercises
Operations & Support (50%)
+ Maintain complete and current infrastructure and process documentation
+ Maintain, configure, and support campus-wide hardware and software systems, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and end-user devices
+ Perform routine monitoring and maintenance, including updates, backups, and incident response
+ Support inventory audits and lifecycle management of technology equipment in collaboration with the campus project manager
+ Mentor work service students involved in IT support
Other Duties as Assigned (10%)
+ Perform other tasks and responsibilities as delegated by the CIO
