Job Description Summary:
Provides the clinical expertise required for the daily scheduling of operative procedures and the pre-registration of surgical patients for the Surgery/PACU department. Coordinates the scheduling of patients with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgery suites, equipment and surgical instrumentation as needed.
Responsibilities And Duties:

Assesses from a clinical perspective the comprehensive logistical needs of each surgical booking on the daily surgery schedule, across all surgical services.

Interacts daily with surgeons and their office staff in an effort to accurately schedule each surgical patient.

Responsible for pre-registering surgical patients at the initial point of scheduling in the hospital registration system.

Responsible for the oversight of the daily surgery schedule finalization process including the optimization of case order, equipment and implant needs and contracting surgeons' offices to communicate case start times.

Assist in the orientation of new employees in the surgery scheduling office.

Attends daily Surgery case management meeting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree (Required)RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
Additional Job Description:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. State of Ohio Registered Nurse license. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Diverse knowledge of surgery environment, surgical procedures and equipment. Good computer skills. Three years surgery Experience . Two years Experience in PC environment.
