    _Our cosmetics client is seeking a Microbiology Assistant for their site in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate will possess experience with aseptic techniques. Recent grads are encouraged to apply!_

     

    **Shift** : M-F 2 nd shift (3pm-11:30pm)

    **Type** : Contract-to-hire

    **Pay** : $20.50/hr

    Requirements:

    + High school diploma or equivalent is required

    + Associate or bachelor’s degree

    Responsibilities:

    + Maintaining media stock.

    + Aseptic techniques and quality (streaking, coring plates, documentation)

    + Swabbing required equipment.

    + Taking weekly stock inventory and informing Micro Supervisor when an item is low.

    + Assist with daily cleaning of the laboratory.

    + Assisting Microbiology Technicians by ensuring the lab has what is needed for daily testing activities.

    + Making diagnostic agar media plates.

    + Assisting with testing preparation for both shifts.

    + Weighing out samples as needed to assist technicians.

    + Proper documentation of all test samples.

    + Proper operation and maintenance of the autoclave.
