Rincon Consultants Inc. is hiring an **Environmental Data Manager/GIS Specialist** to bridge our Data and Technology Services (DTS) and Earth and Environmental Systems (EES) teams. This role hinges on understanding, managing, analyzing, and presenting data generated by EES team field events including laboratory analytical results, GPS/coordinate data, geologic and hydrogeologic parameters, and other information collected in the field. We are seeking a candidate who has a working knowledge of environmental investigation processes and outputs.

Additionally, to promote in-person collaboration and client teaming, we prioritize hiring individuals who reside within 50 miles of a Rincon office, which currently includes: Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Build and manage project-specific databases for medium- and large-scale EES project
+ Coordinate with laboratories and validate incoming Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs)
+ Streamline/automate integration of laboratory data and non-laboratory field data into databases
+ Expand and manage databases for long-term projects that require integration of historical data
+ Manage data uploads to online regulatory databases such as GeoTracker and EnviroStor
+ Provide tabular and spatial analysis of data as requested by EES staff such as statistics, comparison with regulatory screening levels, surface contours, isoconcentrations, cross sections, etc.
+ Prepare draft and report-ready data tables
+ Prepare draft and report-ready figures using GIS and other visualization software
This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
+ Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, MS, or higher in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Geospatial Information Systems, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Chemistry), or equivalent education
+ Five to 10 years of experience in environmental consulting or managing environmental data, including analytical chemistry and field sampling data
+ Detailed working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro
+ Demonstrated proficiency in management of environmental data including database design, data mining, processing, and storage and use of associated tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access)
+ Skilled in connecting data management systems (APIs, database tools, etc.) to Esri tools for comprehensive data visualization and complex analyses
+ Proficient in using R/Python for end-to-end data processes, from wrangling to analysis, and utilizing Rmarkdown, Shiny, PowerBI, Python for effective data visualizations preferred
+ Additional experience with front-end frameworks/languages, such as JavaScript, HTML, etc., desired
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
+ Working knowledge of 3D visualization tools (e.g., Leapfrog, EVS) is also a plus\

The base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000-$120,00, plus benefits and bonus. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys. The base pay that is actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
