Job Description
We are seeking a **mid-level SAP ECC ABAP Developer** to join our IT team in Irvine, CA. This role will support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of SAP ECC applications across key business functions. The ideal candidate will have solid ABAP experience, a strong understanding of core SAP modules, and a collaborative mindset. This is an onsite role, Monday through Friday.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
+ 5+ years of hands-on SAP ECC ABAP development experience, including design, implementation, testing, and support.
+ Proven integration experience across SAP modules (SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, WM) and with external systems.
+ Proficient in SAP development tools: ABAP Workbench, ALV, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, SmartForms, Adobe Forms.
+ Strong skills in database design, data modeling, and performance tuning.
+ Familiarity with SAP Fiori/UI5 or SAP Gateway is a plus.
+ Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
+ Design, develop, and enhance custom SAP solutions supporting WMS, TMS, and operations systems.
+ Create and maintain reliable data integration processes for performance dashboards and operational reporting.
+ Collaborate with business teams to define reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
+ Partner with functional leads to architect scalable, future-ready solutions.
+ Participate in the full development lifecycle including requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
+ Plan and execute changes in production environments: deployments, patches, bug fixes.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues, performing root cause analysis to support system stability.
+ Maintain clear technical documentation including functional and technical specs and test scripts.
+ Ensure adherence to development standards, code quality, and change control processes.
+ Collaborate with third-party partners and internal teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Technical Expertise
SAP ABAP Development
+ Classical and interactive reporting, dialog programming, Enhancement Framework, ALV.
+ SmartForms, SAPscript, Adobe Interactive Forms, and output management.
Data Integration + Interfaces
+ IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, Web Services.
+ Data migration tools: LSMW, BDC, custom load programs.
Modules + Business Process
+ Deep knowledge of core ECC modules: SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, WM.
+ Familiarity with SAP Data Dictionary objects (tables, views, structures, etc.).
Testing + Documentation
+ Experience with unit testing, peer code reviews, and transport management.
+ Strong technical writing skills for specifications and documentation.
Performance + Troubleshooting
+ Advanced ABAP debugging and performance tuning.
+ Quick issue resolution and proactive system monitoring.
Development Practices
+ Modular, object-oriented ABAP development.
+ Exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5 and modern UI techniques is beneficial.
+ Understanding of CTS and basic use of version control tools.
Core Competencies
+ Ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
+ Strong understanding of discrete manufacturing environments (ammunition industry experience is a plus).
+ Excellent time management, attention to detail, and follow-through.
+ Collaborative team player with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
+ Comfortable working in Agile or hybrid methodologies.
Additional Information
+ Experience with SAP Solution Manager, job schedulers, or third-party integrations is a plus.
+ Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.
Pay Range:
Annual Salary: $80,000.00 - $104,000.00
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
