Primary Purpose
As part of the Global Product Design and Development organization, this role will collaborate with various parts of the organization - Product Development, Government Compliance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Production Planning, to ensure an efficient, compliant, and error-free tire specification process.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Support Product Development teams with creation of Tire Bill of Materials and other specification documents in SAP for production and developmental tires
+ Product code creation in the ERP system, and maintain data alignment between Product codes and the Tire specifications and other design systems
+ Provide specification data and reporting as needed to the Product Development organization, as well as other Business units such as Supply Chain and Product Planning team
+ Assist Tire Plant associates with troubleshooting and resolving production-related tire spec issues in SAP
+ Lead implementation of new requirements and changes in the tire specification system for North and Latin America regions.
+ Collaborate with IT developers on defining, testing and implementing changes to the Spec systems.
+ Maintain and refine the Tire Specification Change Requests routings and approval networks.
+ Maintain documentation of data process flow, operating procedures, and system functionalities of the Tire Specification systems, and the integration to the ERP and MES systems.
+ Train and support the North America and Latin America Product Development teams on SAP tire spec systems and processes. This includes the onboard training for new associates.
+ Crosstrain on other SAP related processes and act as back up when needed.
+ Support Enterprise level Global initiatives which have impact on the tire specification systems.
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or related field, required
+ Master's Degree in mechanical engineering or related field, desired.
+ 2 years of engineering experience
+ Tire design, tire development, or tire manufacturing experience desired.
+ Good knowledge of Tire Certifications and Government Regulations
+ Experience working on a global team and global processes
+ Candidate should enjoy both tire design and engineering, and with IT systems
+ IT background or experience is an asset
Knowledge and Skills

+ Fundamental understanding of scientific principles.
+ Ability to form strong working relations with Goodyear associates & customers.
+ Ability to collaborate & work in a cross functional setting.
