Overview
Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility
Manages staff development functions including budget, orientation, practice, competencies, campus wide inservices, and clinical teaching. Assists with the ongoing development of nursing practice through the nursing practice council, products committee, policy and procedures committee, research and performance improvement process. Responsible for training activities on all shifts, seven days per week. Responsible for effective management of human and financial resources to achieve quality nursing orientation and education outcomes in line with financial goals of institution. The position reports to the Director of Quality and works in collaboration with System Nursing Staff Development.

Qualifications
+ Baccalaureate degree required; Masters degree preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years experience in related field after degree/licensure obtained.
+ Current Registered Nursing License.
Current certification in assigned specialty area preferred.
+ Physical Requirements:
+ Constant walking, standing, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing and lifting.
Environmental Conditions
+ Potential for cuts, bruises, muscle strains and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and contagious diseases.
+ May be exposed to hazardous materials.
