Overview

The Endovascular RN delivers specialized care and treatment to patients undergoing interventional/vascular procedures. The staff is on-call for off shifts/weekends as scheduled. Staff must be able to respond to the hospital's call

Responsibilities

+ Able to take call based on "on-call" policy.

+ Strong EKG rhythm interpretation skills.

+ Ability to provide leadership in Emergency or Code Blue roles.

+ Maintain ability to perform in an assertive yet supportive manner when functioning with physicians in the procedural setting.

+ Maintain knowledge of patient equipment and therapeutic modalities utilized in the Endovascular Lab.

+ Maintain knowledge of medications and conscious sedation used in the Endovascular Lab.

+ Complies with department policies regarding appropriate sterile technique and radiation safety.

+ Participate in education, community activities and performance improvement projects.

+ Oversees maintenance and provides troubleshooting of equipment.

Qualifications

+ Graduate of accredited nursing program

+ Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.

+ Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within 3 months from hire date.

+ Must possess and maintain current ACLS or Core certification or obtain within 3 months from hire date.

+ Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

+ Multicultural sensitivity.

+ Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.

+ Customer/patient focused.

+ Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.

+ Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
