Summary:
At Meta Reality Labs, we are developing the future of Wearables and Mixed Reality products and this team focuses on developing display and optics technologies for Meta products. Their mission is to create see-through display systems that seamlessly blend the real and virtual realms. This involves designing the architecture and all display sub-systems for AR glasses based on leading technologies developed by Meta’s teams. We work on creating advanced display technologies that are essential for AR and VR systems while having sub-teams that connect bits, electrons, photons, and experience for display products across wearables and the metaverse while focusing on display silicon architecture, applied perception studies, image quality, and defining the roadmap and long-term platform development strategy. Within XDO we also aim to develop and implement test, characterization, metrology, and data solutions to support the creation of transparent display systems.
Required Skills:
Image Sensor Engineer (ALS/Flicker) Responsibilities:
1. Directly responsible for sensor selection, implementation and system integration, coordinating with other members of the Image Sensor teams
2. Translate system requirements into sensor specifications and identify optimal solutions, identifying trade-offs between off-the-shelf and custom solutions
3. Work with a large cross functional team to ensure a sound imaging architecture and flawless integration of image sensors into the final product
4. Lead and collaborate with internal or external partners to develop novel sensor solutions to meet future Reality Labs sensor needs
5. Work with vendors to align and influence their sensor roadmaps
Minimum Qualifications:

6. BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics and/or equivalent experience
7. 6+ years of experience in Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) Imaging and Electro Optical Systems

8. Understanding of image sensor design: pixels, analog readout and serial interfaces
9. Experience defining sensors based on system requirements and integrating those sensors into complex systems
10. Experience in system requirements and use-cases and driving optimal tradeoffs between user needs and implementation constraints
11. Experience with ambient light and flicker sensors
12. Understanding of sensor application circuits and related implementation issues
13. Understanding of digital and image signal processing
14. Experience with factory testing of optical/image sensors
15. Experience collaborating with large cross functional and vendor teams
Public Compensation:
$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
