Job Description

+ Teach general linguistics, ESL teacher education, and composition.

+ Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.

+ Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.

+ Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.

+ Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.

+ Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.

+ Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.

**Salary Range:** $64,066 - $186,015; Commensurate with Rank, Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

+ Ph.D. or Ed.D. in English or related field with focus on linguistics, applied linguistics, or TESOL.

+ College teaching experience

Preferred Qualification

+ Substantive experience, concentrated coursework, and/or demonstrated expertise in ESL/TESOL/Applied linguistics.

+ Experience/coursework/demonstrated expertise in general linguistics and composition.

+ Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in linguistics, ESL, and TESOL courses.

+ Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in composition.

+ Strong writing skills, as reflected in teaching materials and other application materials.

+ Scholarly/creative achievement in area of specialization.

+ Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.

+ Evidence of professional activities and service.

+ Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
