Job Description

The Department of Criminology and Political Science at Texas A&M University-San Antonio is seeking to hire a part-time adjunct instructor to teach in its Political Science program. Applicants must have at least one year of university teaching experience and the ability to teach courses in person. Appointment will begin in Fall 2025. Continuation depends on course availability.

Required Education and Experience:

+ Master's degree or higher in Political Science or related field from an accredited university.

+ At least one (1) year of university teaching experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

+ Doctoral degree in Political Science or related field from an accredited university.

+ At least three (3) years of university teaching experience.

+ Record of teaching excellence.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. This is an adjunct position, requiring only teaching. Courses could be offered during daytime hours or evenings, based on departmental needs.

Finalists will be required to provide two current, original letters of recommendation to the search committee chair via email (sent directly from the recommender), or at the address listed below. Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution by the Office of Academic Affairs, TAMU-SA, One University Way, San Antonio, TX 78224. We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcript translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.

Selected candidates must pass a pre-employment background investigation to be hired for this position.
