Job Description
The Program Coordinator I under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development and implementation of assigned program.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and implement all departmental recruitment efforts. This will include occasional travel to locations across Texas.
• Provide coordination and event planning for departmental youth programs, including youth education events, poultry judging camps and clinics.
• Represent the department for recruiting at major poultry shows and poultry judging contests in Texas.
• Serve as liaison to the college for recruitment efforts and programs.
• Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings.
• Maintain database of prospective students and monitor university admissions system to track incoming freshmen admissions.
• Assist with coordination of annual department events such as banquet and Steak Fry.
• Serve on department scholarship committee and assist with facilitation of undergraduate scholarships.
• Serve on various departmental committees as required.
• Assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events.
• Advise departmental student organizations as needed.
• Hosts department visitors including industry representatives, donors, former students, and prospective students and parents.
• Compiles program statistics as requested.
• Coordinate student travel and provide guidance for student activities.
• Performs other job related duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of program administration experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication, customer service and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet programs, and database applications.
