    Position Description:

    CGI has an immediate need for a Oracle Application DBA (Infrastructure) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting a largest system implementation. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies to deliver the IT system.

     

    The Oracle DBA will support the maintenance of the COTS product databases, the Data Estate/BI databases, and the data replication processes to handle the operation, performance and availability of the databases supporting the Development, Test and PreProduction environments.

     

    This position is located in our Lafayette, Louisiana office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

    Your future duties and responsibilities:

    Your future duties and responsibilities:

    Day-to-day activities include the development and maintenance of the Oracle databases supporting:

    - Release management and on-call support for Production databases. This involves providing DB Support for multiple Application teams for Development release.

     

    - Monitor databases for performance issues and notify application administrators in the event of degradation or unavailability

     

    - Tune SQL as needed using Oracle tools, profiles, indexes, etc.

     

    - Install and configure Oracle Enterprise Edition 19c and higher.

     

    - DB upgrade and Quarterly Patching

     

    - Create new databases, adhering to naming conventions and established standards

     

    - Maintain database baseline configuration documentation, including security controls, profiles, role, etc.

     

    - Provision database users with approved access requests

    - Monitor both logical and physical replication to reporting and standby databases

    - Setup/Support for Dataguard. Verify backups and regularly test restore capability

     

    - Monitor security posture of the database and recommend changes to resolve issues/vulnerabilities.

     

    - Perform data exports and imports as needed to support database users (application administrators)

     

    - Create/maintain shell scripts to support DB Administration tasks and/or automate them via Shell/Python/Sql.

     

    - Supporting the maintenance of required documentation.

    Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

    • Minimum 7+ years overall with at least 5 years as ORACLE DBA.

    • ń-5+ years of experience in Oracle 18c/19c including Backup, Dataguard, RAC/ASM, OEM, Performance Tuning, and fundamental database administrations.

    • Ł-2 years of coding experience of Unix shell scripting or Python

    • Experience administering a large enterprise database environment.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    - Previous experience with the federal financial domain.

     

    - Previous experience working with Microsoft Azure

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $69,700.00 - $154,300.00.
