    Description Patent legal assistant with 1-3 years experience needed for a growing team. The legal assistant will support attorneys and patent agents in all aspects of the patent prosecution lifecycle. This role requires a strong understanding of intellectual property law, USPTO rules, and international patent filing procedures. You will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate filings, helping inventors protect their ideas. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, proofread, and file patent applications, responses, and amendments with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign patent offices. Manage and maintain docketing systems to track deadlines for patent applications, renewals, and office actions. Coordinate with attorneys, patent agents, and clients to gather necessary information and documentation for filings. Prepare and submit formal documents, including declarations, powers of attorney, assignments, requests for continued examination (RCE), and certificates of correction. Handle domestic and international patent filings, including Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) filings and national phase entries. Serve as the liaison with foreign associates to coordinate filings and responses in international jurisdictions. Monitor and ensure compliance with USPTO and foreign patent office regulations and deadlines. Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic and physical case files. Conduct legal research related to intellectual property and assist attorneys with preparation for prosecution-related matters. Prepare billing summaries and monitor client accounts to ensure timely invoicing and payments. Requirements Qualifications: Associate degree or higher preferred; Paralegal certification is a plus. 1-3 years' experience working for in IP Familiarity with USPTO regulations, patent docketing systems, and international patent procedures (PCT experience is highly desirable). Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft detail oriented correspondence. Proficiency in legal technology tools, including Microsoft Office and specialized IP docketing software (e.g., CPI, PATTSY, or equivalent). High level of attention to detail and integrity in managing sensitive client information. Preferred Skills: Experience working at an IP-focused law firm or corporate in-house IP department. Knowledge of patent annuities and renewal processes. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and clients. Why Join This Team? Comprehensive benefits package.
